During one of the outings of the company I work for, we went to Sweden and we spent the weekend in Gothenburg. To get to Sweden, we had to take the Stena Line ferry from Kiel to Gothenburg. When we were all aboard and checked out the decks, I wandered of to the car deck, to find out if I could find any Sties trucks. Nothing, bad luck. A new ferry line Oslo – Kiel started at May 1961. The line was operated by a new car ferry with the name Kronprins Harald. She was a small ferry boat compare with the car ferry to day. But she was a luxurious ship, mainly built for small passenger cars. The daily 560 kms from Oslo to Trondheim

We usually drove up to Trondheim to load fish. The road from Oslo to Trondheim was 560 km long. The highest point of the road was 1024 m. Sties trucks were driving that distance almost every day. We used 14 hours on that drive with only 2 stops. One stop for dinner, and one stop at midnight for coffee and sandwich at a filling station.
